Adaptation of the eponymous novel by Richard Matson of the unknown virus, which claimed the life of half the world’s population, and the other half turned into a vampire. The plot is built around the only survivor of a man with an inexplicable immunity, holding endless nights of the siege of vampires, and the afternoon trying to find the antidote and find out the causes of the epidemic.

The director’s version than the alternative endings also contains cut from the film version of the episodes (about 4x minutes ), which give meaning to the other ending.
